Portland House is a big holiday cottage that sleeps 12 – 22. It is a spacious Grade II Georgian House positioned in an idyllic village setting. On the cusp of three beautiful counties (Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire) and close enough to offer great Symonds Yat accommodation.
What to expect from Portland House
There are amazing rural views from most of the 8 beautiful en suite bedrooms (one including a four poster bed). This big holiday cottage has a large enclosed garden making it dog friendly should you want to bring your pets along.
If you fancy a long soak in the evening after a hard day’s activity there is a hot tub available on request. There are also disabled sleeping/bathing facilities to ensure everyone is catered for.
The cottage also has private parking, so no fighting for parking spaces.
Things to do
The cottage is just a stones throw from a wonderful local shop, Woods of Whitchurch, which is licensed and has a well-regarded delicatessen and bakery and serves great coffee! Just over the road is an excellent pub/ restaurant with two others within walking distance.
With the River Wye only five minutes walk away you’re not far from some beautiful scenery. There is also a visitor centre with a hedge puzzle, miniature golf and laser tag, and nearby, a canoe hire facility.
