Springtime Steam Extravaganza - April 4th to 6th

The Dean Forest Railway hosts its annual Springtime Steam Extravaganza, showcasing a collection of magnificent steam engines chugging along the historic tracks. Enjoy breath taking views of the Forest of Dean as you ride in vintage carriages, with stops at charming stations like Norchard, Whitecroft, and Parkend. The event also features exhibits, food stands, and a chance to chat with railway enthusiasts.

Canoe the River Wye - Ongoing

On April 8th, Tintern Abbey will be hosting an Open Air Cinema event, showing the classic movie, The Goonies. This is a unique opportunity to experience the stunning ruins of Tintern Abbey whilst enjoying a classic movie.

Monmouth Walking Festival

From April 9th to April 11th, the Monmouth Walking Festival will be taking place. This is a great opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside around Monmouth with guided walks catering to all abilities. The walks range from easy strolls to more challenging hikes, with stunning views of the Wye Valley.

On April 12th, the Forest of Dean will be hosting a Wildplay event, aimed at children aged 5-12. The event takes place in the beautiful surroundings of the forest, and includes activities such as den building, fire lighting, and bug hunting. Chepstow Castle

Chepstow Castle is a medieval fortress located on the banks of the River Wye. From April 12th to April 16th, they will be hosting a series of events and activities aimed at families, including an Easter egg hunt and a guided tour of the castle. This is a great way to learn about the rich history of the area and explore one of the most impressive castles in the Wye Valley.
