Madagascar is a haven for biodiversity and wildlife. Unfortunately deforestation is widespread. However there's some good news amidst the recent problems. To counteract deforestation, tree seeds are being gathered by villagers. Local tree nurserymen visit villages to teach the people how to start and tend nurseries (tools and materials supplied), germinate seeds and grow on into saplings. They later oversee the planting out of young trees. The enthusiasm for this new Dodwell Trust project is plain for all to see.
