Lovely quirky cottage in a great location to explore the local area and Ross on Wye. We arrived at night so the entrance was quite difficult to find…. It’s on the same side and entrance as the a40 Diner. Everything else was a doddle - and our dog loved the dedicated garden space at the back

Had a wonderful birthday weekend escape in this lovely cottage. Very much enjoyed the fresh eggs and meeting the dogs and chickens! Anastasia was so welcoming and helpful, made it very easy to co-ordinate our group travelling from different directions. Thank you very much.

Lovely cottage. Everything was easy and we felt right at home. Anastasia's communication was fantastic, and the check-in/out was very straightforward. The area is beautiful, and walking options straight from the house are possible.

Spacious, clean and quirky. The kids loved the "upside down" layout and we all found the large lounge for evening relaxation. A perfect place for a family gathering.

We had the best time staying at the cottage, 2 adults and 4 kids and we had so much space. The whole place is immaculate, it’s really cosy and decorated true to the style of the building which makes it homely. Beds are comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. Brilliant location for exploring the Forest of Dean. Alison who manages the bookings and Anastasia who owns it were both so lovely and friendly and helpful, great communication. We were not bothered at all by a hen party in the main house, the walls are so thick, there’s so much space and you have your own private garden and parking. We were given lovely fresh eggs during our stay and the whole visit was welcoming from start to finish. We will definitely be back, thank you!

The grounds of the big house are beautiful and our kids loved running around and exploring every section of the garden. The cottage is spacious and has lovely views from every window. Alison was so friendly and helpful.

We spent two nights at Carefree Cottage with the kids and dog. From the moment we arrived, Ana and Gordon made us feel totally at home and showed us round the cottage.
We had a lovely time and had everything we needed. The fresh eggs, milk tea and coffee were a bonus and came in handy the next morning.

Alison was a fantastic host, very responsive and really friendly, even gave us some eggs both mornings from her chickens, the cottage was very spacious and clean had everything we needed, would love to stay there again and highly recommend anyone to stay there
