Riversdale Cottage

Set within the natural beauty of the Wye Valley is this lovely large family let, close to the town of Ross on Wye and skirting the beautiful Forest of Dean. Riversdale Cottage is decorated thoughtfully in keeping with the traditional style of the building whilst still offering a contemporary flair, this family dwelling sleeps 14 guests in six bedrooms. (plus 2 little ones in cots).

For those less inclined to day trips away, the house offers a heating swimming pool (available during the summer months) a picturesque garden with a fishpond, various terraces and the gentle sound of the rivers rapids. The garden entertains all with a zip wire, trampoline, and places to play various family ball games. A short walk at the end of the garden takes you to the river pathway leading to Biblin’s Bridge recently restored. The bridge is pretty spectacular and has some amazing views of the river and the woods. Crossing the footbridge is great fun for those that don’t mind heights or the bridges swinging which adds to the adventure. 

Just a short drive takes you to local river spots in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Symonds Yat is home to a several pubs one just a short walk another utilising the local river ferry and another a short drive for finer dining. The towns of Ross on Wye and Monmouth (one in England one in Wales) both within a 10 minute drive are packed full of all you need for your self-catered stay, from cafés and shops, to pubs and restaurants, both offer a quaint selection worth discovering. Being close to the Wales/England border, walkers will be delighted to have the chance to explore sections of the famous Offa's Dyke Path, plus plenty of historic castles in the locality. The Forest of Dean is a local rural paradise offering an extensive array of family activities, including boating on the Wye, Fishing, Climbing, Horse riding, Active sports, plus Caves, ponds, mines, a railway, mazes and gentle walks and views in unexpected places. The Forest of Dean hosts eateries galore to appeal to any taste.  Enjoy a well-deserved family break amidst serene scenery with your loved ones and friends and you will find yourself wanting to return time and time again.
