Bowley Hall is situated just north of the village of Bodenham, within easy reach of the towns of Leominster, Ludlow and Hereford. Nearby are the National Trust Properties of Berrington Hall, Croft Castle and Brockhampton Estate, as well as Hampton Court Castle and Queenswood Country Park.

For walkers, there are many beautiful walks both near and further afield. Walks around the black and white villages are popular, as are walks around Ludlow and Mortimer Woods. Slightly further away but still within easy reach is Hay Bluff and other walks on the borders, as well as Cardingmill Valley and walks into Shropshire. The Malvern Hills is also in easy reach, with stunning views and wonderful walks.

For shoppers, there are farmers markets regularly in Ludlow and Leominster, with Ludlow also home to many fantastic shops, and a vibrant independent quarter in Hereford.

Sports fans will find racecourses nearby at Hereford and Ludlow, rugby at Luctonians and Hereford, cricket clubs throughout the county and at Worcester for county-level games. For golf fans, both The Grove and Leominster Golf Club are under ten minutes away. Those who enjoy watersports are spoilt for choice with activities on The River Wye, including canoeing and paddleboarding.

Children have plenty to do outdoors, but also indoor fun at Flip Out, Green Spider climbing or one of the counties Halo Leisure Centres. Oaker Wood Leisure is also ideal for family groups or even groups of friends looking for outdoor pursuits.

Regular festivals within the county include Eastnor Chilli Festival, Lakefest, Hay Festival, Nozstock and many more.

At the Hall The library has a large selection of books and comes with a pool table, perfect for those more competitive guests. We also have a separate large games room above the Broadfield bar, with a cinema area and table tennis table. The bar comes as part of your hire on a DIY basis. Or it can be stocked and staffed at an additional cost, should you want a space for more guests to join you for a special occasion.

On top of this, we provide board games, DVDs, books, children’s toys and games, as well as a special Broadfield treasure hunt to keep our younger guests entertained. In Summer, there are also garden games, including croquet, football croquet and giant Jenga. We also have a swing and slide for very little ones so that they’re not left out of the outside fun! Please ask too about a hot tub – this can either be included or hired in.

Within the grounds of Broadstone’s 22-acre estate lies 5 acres of south facing luscious lawns, a David Austin rose garden, walled kitchen garden, orchard and woods. Nothing stirs here apart from the odd snuffling hedgehog or the occasional rustle of a woodpecker alighting from the trees.

Enjoy a little croquet on the lawns, or play your own test match. Explore the woods, kitchen garden and grapevines. Organise a treasure hunt for the kids or a picnic by the fish pond. In the evening, throw a cardie on, light the terrace firepits and get some pizza going in the clay oven.

During the winter months, unwind in the outdoor hot tub under star-lit skies.
